How to Stake
Starting a Stake
- Navigate to the Stake section
- Enter the amount of LODE you want to lock
- Choose your duration (28-3,500 days)
- Review the estimated shares you’ll receive
- Confirm the transaction
Your LODE is locked for the full duration. You receive shares that earn ETH from the four payout cycles.
Optimizing Shares
More shares = more ETH rewards. To maximize shares:
- Stake more LODE — the Bigger Pays Better bonus increases your share count (capped at 100B LODE)
- Stake longer — the Longer Pays Better bonus increases shares (capped at 2,888 days)
- Stake early — the share rate increases daily, so earlier stakers get more shares per LODE
Claiming ETH Rewards
Your shares earn ETH from four independent payout cycles. To claim:
- Go to the Rewards section
- View your unclaimed ETH across all cycles
- Click Claim All to collect in one transaction
You don’t need to claim every cycle. Rewards accumulate — claim whenever you’re ready.
Ending Your Stake
On Time
After maturity, end your stake within 7 days for zero penalty.
Late
Penalties escalate after the grace period: 1% per day, up to 99%.
Early (Emergency)
After 50% maturity, you can exit early with a 50% penalty.
Consider burning the stake instead of emergency ending. Burning has no penalty, earns burn amplifier, and qualifies for the burn pool.
Tips
- You can have up to 1,000 active stakes per wallet
- Ending a stake updates your share snapshot, which affects which future payouts you’re eligible for
- Anyone can end your matured stake for you — the LODE still goes to you
